Are you a therapist, counsellor, or psychologist curious about Adlerian theory? Do you want to deepen your understanding of mental health struggles like anxiety, shame, and people-pleasing through the lens of inferiority?

Join me for a 3-hour CPD workshop where we’ll explore the key principles of Adlerian psychology and how to apply them directly in your clinical work.

Friday 12th September 2025

What you'll learn:

  • Core Adlerian theory – including lifestyle, private logic, and feelings of inferiority, and how these shape a client’s unique patterns of relating and striving

  • Working with early memories – how to gently explore early recollections to uncover deeply held beliefs and a client’s “movement through life”

  • Using lifestyle theory in practice – learn how to identify four common life strategies (pleasing, moral superiority, control, and avoidance), uncover the fears behind them, and support clients to develop more flexible and connected ways of being

  • Social interest as a measure of mental health – what it means, how to identify it and why it’s central to healing and growth

  • Interactive case practice – reflect on real clinical work through an Adlerian lens in small groups

By the end of the training you'll have:

A solid understanding of the key principles of Adlerian psychology and how they apply to therapy

A framework for working with early memories to access clients’ beliefs and patterns

A new lens for working with anxiety, people-pleasing, shame, and perfectionism

Practical ways to integrate Adlerian tools into your existing modality

A 3-hour CPD certificate, and the option to rewatch the session via replay

"Adlerian therapy is fascinating, a totally different perspective than those I've studied so far. Judy is so passionate about it and explained it in a way that meant I could easily apply it to myself and my clients. Having a different frame of reference has been really useful and I'd recommend it to anyone who is curious."

  • How is the training delivered?
The training is live on Zoom and includes interactive group discussions, case practice, and Q&A.
  • Do I have to be a therapist to do the training?
This workshop is aimed at therapists but would also be useful for psychologists or therapists/psychologists in training. It will have space to discuss your clients through the lens of Adlerian theory.
  • Do I need to be familiar with Adlerian theory to attend?
    No prior experience is required!
  • If I've already attended your one hour introductory webinar will this still be useful?
Yes — definitely. The one-hour webinar gave a broad overview of Adlerian theory, while this 3-hour CPD goes much deeper. We’ll explore key concepts in more detail, look at how they show up in real client work, and include space for reflection, discussion, and practical integration. Even if you’re familiar with the basics, this training will give you a much richer understanding and greater confidence in using Adlerian ideas in practice.
  • Do I have to attend live?
This training is designed as an interactive workshop, so you’ll get the most out of it by attending live. That said, if you can’t make the date, you’re still very welcome to sign up — a full recording will be provided, and you’ll still gain plenty of insight and practical value from watching it in your own time.
  • Is a CPD certificate included?
Yes, I can provide a 3-hour CPD certificate for your professional development records on request.
  • How much does it cost?
    ● £65 Early Bird (available until Friday 22nd August) ● £80 Full Price
  • Is there a refund or cancellation policy?
Please note that due to the nature of this event, refunds are not available if you can no longer attend. However, you’ll receive a full replay of the training shortly after the session, so you can still benefit from the content in your own time. In the unlikely event that the session needs to be cancelled or rescheduled (e.g. due to low sign-ups or unforeseen circumstances), you will be given the option of a full refund or a place on the rescheduled date.

ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Judy Potts — a therapist, mum, and content creator with a love for making psychology understandable and useful.

I studied psychology at university and have always been fascinated by  understanding human behaviour. Along side my career in the charity sector  I began my own therapy journey  — and happened to work with an Adlerian therapist. I found the approach so helpful in my own life and I became really interested in Adler's work.

That experience led me to train for four years as an Adlerian therapist — and now I have a thriving private practice. I’m passionate about Adlerian psychology because it gets to the root of WHY we struggle in the way we do. It offers a clear, practical framework for change — and with its strong emphasis on belonging and social connection (what Adler called social interest), it stands apart from many mainstream self-help approaches.

Along side my work as a therapist , I also love communicating and teaching. Whether on Instagram, in webinars, or in CPD trainings like this one, my goal is always the same: to create spaces where learning feels practical relevant, and inspiring.
